What To Expect
Welcome to Langhorst Family Dentistry, PLLC.  We look forward to meeting you!  Before you come in, we thought you might appreciate knowing what you can expect while at our office.

We may be a little different from other dental offices.  We believe that achieving and maintaining healthy teeth and gums takes a team effort involving you, the patient, along with the dentist and dental team.  We believe in patient education and preventative dentistry following the current standard of care.

We want you to be informed about your oral health and we want to gather as much information as possible to make accurate diagnoses.  Please plan to be in our office for approximately 60 minutes for your comprehensive examination with Dr. Langhorst and an additional 60 minutes for your professional cleaning.  At your first visit we will complete a thorough review of your medical and dental history, complete a comprehensive evaluation of your teeth and gums, including an oral cancer screening and the capture of any necessary x-rays, and we will educate you on how you can properly care for your teeth and gums.  To give you the best care possible, we utilize up-to-date dental technology including intra oral cameras and digital x-rays.

Following recommended standards of dental care, it is our policy to take diagnostic x-rays annually and we will complete these at your first visit unless current x-rays are received.  If you have current x-rays available from another office, we request that you arrange to have them sent to us prior to your first visit by mailing the Records Release form to your previous dentist.  Most insurance contracts have limitations on how often x-rays may be taken and covered by the insurance, so please verify your eligibility with your insurance company.

After gathering information from your exam and x-rays, we will determine a treatment plan explaining any necessary procedures that may be necessary for your dental health.  We will provide you with an estimation of your out of pocket costs for your investment in restoring your dental health.  If you have dental insurance, we ask that you pay your estimated portion at the time of treatment.  If you do not have dental insurance, we ask that you pay for all services in full at the time they are rendered unless prior arrangements have been made.

Being well-prepared for your appointment will ensure that the doctor has all of the needed information to provide the best possible care for you.  New patient paperwork can be printed off our website or mailed to you.  We ask that paperwork be returned to our office at least 3 business days prior to your appointment.  Educate yourself on your symptoms by reviewing the content on this website. Also, take some time to review our team page and familiarize yourself with our team. We look forward to your first visit!
